Mem Ferda Flash WebsiteThis smooth, highly polished flash website was commissioned by London based film & television actor Mem Ferda. The website was designed primarily for a high bandwidth audience made up of casting directors and filmmaking professionals. The website was also designed with disabled and dial-up users in mind, creating a standards-compliant text-only xhtml website running off the same database back end as the flash site.
Mem is a seasoned actor with experience in all walks of performance art from theatre and commercials to more recent accomplishments in mainstream film and television. The launch of the website coincided beautifully with Mem's latest feature film appearance alongside Ray Liotta in Guy Ritchie's gangster film Revolver. In early 2006, Mem will make his biggest appearance yet on British television with a leading role in ITV's two-part drama A Good Murder.
After years of awkward dealings with an expensive London website designer, Mem was looking for a full-featured Content Management System (CMS) with which he could update the website himself. Like most of my clients, Mem had no training or experience of flash website development and no desire to learn if he could avoid it.
With this in mind, I designed and developed a comprehensive Content Management System that allowed him to control every aspect of his site through a password protected web page. Now, adding modifying and deleting film credits, news stories, gallery photos or anything else is a simple two-minute job for a complete novice.
